Tokyo at Night - Wako Department Store

If you talk about Ginza, you are talking about shopping. And if you are talking about shopping in Ginza, then you need to talk about the Wako Department Store. Like many Japanese department stores it offers luxury shopping, but the clock tower above it is what it is known for most.

It is an easy place to photograph, as you can place your tripod and camera just in front of the Nissan showroom which is on the other side of the road. You should be able to capture not only Wako and its clock tower, but all the traffic that goes by. It makes for a very pretty scene. The only thing I would suggest is to get their fairly early in the night, as Wako closes at 7 pm. For this photo I, unfortunately, got there quite late and missed out a lot of the lights that might have been on earlier. Still, I’m happy enough with my efforts, but it does give me the opportunity to take it again at some point in the future. Hopefully then, I’ll get the perfect picture.
