Tokyo in Pics

Stairway to heaven

Actually, I think we should say, “Escalator to heaven”. And that is exactly what you will find in Tokyo, an outdoor escalator that will take you up a slope to Hei shrine, which is one of the most famous shrines in the city. I guess it was due to the lay of the land they needed three escalators, not just one. The ride takes fractionally over two minutes and will be welcomed by those who knees aren’t what they once were, like me. But once at the top with the shrine right there, you will definitely be closer to the gods! If you want to try something a little different for a shrine visit, this one is for you.
