Spring Rose Festival 2019 at Kyu-Furukawa Gardens

The mansion at Kyu-Furukawa Gardens, designed by the English architect Josiah Conder, along with its English garden was completed in 1917. In 1956 it was opened to the public and at some point in time the Spring Rose Festival was started. I’ve attended it twice and think it is fabulous. The mansion on the grounds is very classical and is actually open to the public for the event for tea and coffee. However, the stars are the roses of course, with numerous types there. If you love flowers and English gardens, this is definitely a must attend event. Just be aware that is does get very crowded! Tokyoites do love their flower festivals!
