The sake barrels of Meiji shrine

As you walk along the path to Meiji shrine from the main entrance, you’ll run across these sake barrels. The reason why they are there is that the gods have always enjoyed a sip of sake or two, and as the gods are found at shrines, a lot of the brew gets donated to them. Breweries from all over the country donate barrels of the stuff to this shrine as well as many others. And a lot of visitors, as well as me, stop to photograph them.
