Tokyo in Pics

A photography blog about Tokyo, run by Australian photographer Rohan Gillett

The Shibuya Crossing bride

I’ve spent quite a lot of time in Shibuya testing out my new Ricoh GR III camera recently. Well, I got a very nice surprise there. One afternoon I was waiting for the lights to turn green, just minding my own business business, and I noticed a girl in a wedding dress standing on one of the opposite corners. The lights change and she runs at full speed into the middle, dress and high heels included! A photographer wasn’t far behind and I realised they were there to do a photo shoot. With them running out, after my first shot I ran out too and walked around the snapping off my own shot of her before the lights went red. It was over in a flash, I continued to the corner I had planned to go beforehand and they continued to another. Unfortunately they didn’t appear again for the rest of the afternoon. It was over.
