Coca-Cola - the Shibuya Version

One day, after work, I was walking back to Shibuya Station and in front of me, my eye happened to catch a drink in a vending machine.  It was a bottle of Coca-Cola that looked rather different.

Coca-Cola the Shibuya version.

Rather than the usual shape, this was slim and had a picture of Hachiko on it along with a street scene, rather reminiscent of Shibuya 109.  I thought it was a great looking design. A collectors item? I don’t know, but even though I don’t drink much soft drink, I bought two just to see what it tastes like.

You know what?  It tastes just like regular Coca-Cola.  There is nothing unusual about the drink, just the bottle.  At the moment, there seems to be fifteen special designs, each only available at particular places in Japan.  So, in Tokyo, Shibuya and Ueno got one each that you can’t buy anywhere else. Other places in Japan also have them.  They all have very nice designs from what I’ve seen.

If you are a fan of Coca-Cola or the places where theses bottles can be bought, you should pick one or two up.  You can see the news release (dating from August 2018) here.
